Vibrant location with lively atmosphere
The location near Plaza Nueva dazzled me. The friendly staff provided stellar recommendations for local dining, especially the tapas across the street.
Noise pollution was a considerable challenge. Street cleaning began as early as 3 am and nearby bars generated significant noise, so I definitely needed earplugs to sleep.

Great hotel, I enjoyed its very central location very close to attractions and restaurants, central granada, and restaurants of all kinds and kebab places. There were a nice size and airy rooms with private bathroom...
Nothing everything was great!

For anyone thinking about this
A fantastic place with a very central location! Friendly staff, and I appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Just a short walk to San Nicolas point and a quick bus ride to the Alhambra. I highly recommend it for a great value experience!

The owner/manager of Pension Antares is a delightful man. Very friendly, and seemed genuinely interested in making us feel welcome. Also, it is right in the middle of everything you'd want to experience in Granada- within walking distance to many bars, tabernas, clubs, the Albayzin and the Alhambra. Perfect location.

I mainly selected this hostal for the combination of price and central location for a weekend of bar-hopping and splash of culture. The location is fantastic being right near the cathedral and just off one of the most important streets. There are lots of bars and cafes near by including the obligatory Irish bar and a pretty decent Indian restaurant. There area also lots of little streets with Moorish teterias and Spanish bodegas, so there is plenty of variety. Be sure to try the local vinos de Granada - they are muy bueno!
The price, although reasonable, is still a little expensive for what you get. To keep the price down, I chose a room with a shared bathroom and toilet. These were both clean although there were no towels in the bathroom (so be sure to bring your own). The interior of the hostal felt a tiny bit shabby around the edges with the door to my room having cracks in it. Some of the rooms back on to a street which has several bars, so be aware that there may be some noise from outside for most of the night particularly during weekends and in the summer months. This didn't bother me that much as by the time I got back to my room, it was pretty late anyway.

Friendly staff enhanced my stay.
The room exhibited poor sound insulation, allowing me to hear noise from the street and nearby bathrooms, quite disruptive. There were issues with the lock on the building doors. The room itself felt dark and somewhat depressing, which affected my overall comfort .

Friendly staff, convenient location, quick check-in, low price.
It was not too well insulated so I would recommend earplugs.

How utterly disappointing. The noise from the street kept me awake, even though I thought I woudl be sleeping like royalty. The room reminded me of a dark dungeon, not the luxurious escape I envisioned. I expected some special treatment because I stayed for 2 nights, but alas, nothing. Just another regular guest it seems.

This is not a five-star hotel, of course, but you get good value for money. The location is fantastic. What really made a difference was the staff, who was exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

We were late for the check in time (until 10:30p), but also get hot welcome from the hostel owner, a very very nice guy.

Fantastic location near Plaza Nueva. I enjoyed the tapas at La Nueva Bodega just across the street. It was a highlight of my trip. My room was clean, and the helpful, young staff were eager to assist with any questions I had. The soundproofing in the room was poor. I could hear noise from the busy street and nearby bars well into the night. While being right in the action has its perks, I relied on earplugs to get through the nights. The shared bathrooms could use some attention, as flooding from the shower was a minor inconvenience. The blend of a vibrant atmosphere and friendly service outweighed some of the drawbacks.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a great hotel to visit the city! Close to the cathedral, in a street full of pubs within walking distance to everything! The shared bathroom is always clean. Good rooms and very cheap. "Calorosa accoglienza e servizio impeccabile".

I stayed in a perfectly acceptable little room for one, with a sink. It was comfortable and reasonably clean. I had no major problems with the room. This hostel is a very good value for what I paid -- a good location right in the center of things.
The hostel had a student vibe and was a little on the loud side late at night. My room was between two bathrooms and I was woken up a couple of times by people trying to open the door thinking it was the bathroom, or just otherwise making a lot of noise.
